Dreams cancelled

Some things about me that may just be of interest...

Homeless Project Scotland
I have been a volunteer photographer for Homeless Project Scotland in Glasgow since 2021 and have created more than 1,000 photos for their press releases, website, social media accounts and leaflets. I am deeply troubled by the issue of homelessness and believe that every person on this planet deserves access to the most basic necessities: a safe, dry place to stay, the means to prepare a hot meal, a bathroom, and a clean, warm bed. In support of the charity to raise much needed funds I have launched a project called 'Portraits for Food'. Find out more here

Alleyways of Glasgow
I have an interest in photographing cinematic alleyways, street art, abandoned buildings and the Duke of Wellington outside the Gallery of Modern Art here in Glasgow, especially if he has a new cone on his head.

Yes I really did this!
In 1995 I embarked on a solo cycle tour of more than 4,500 miles pedalling through Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Gibraltar and finally Portugal. I still ride the same bike now, although it has had a few new bits on it.
Okay what I really mean is a lot of new bits apart from the frame, handlebars, pedals and saddle!
On the trip I was interviewed for a long running BBC Radio 4 travel show Breakaway. They were looking at the different ways fans had travelled from the U.K. to the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. Yes, you guessed it, they wanted me because I was the crazy bloke who cycled there!

The 365 Project that went wrong
In February 2008 I started one of those 365 photography projects where you commit to making a single photo every day for one year. A big challenge you might think, but I forgot to stop and 6,000 days later I'm still going...

My claim to fame
In 2017, Lando Norris, yes that one, liked four of my photos on Instagram.

The book cover
In 2018 Ardkinglas The Biography of a Highland Estate was published and one of my landscape images is on the front cover. If you have really good eyesight or own a magnifying glass, you may just see the credit on the back cover.
