A relaxed day, one-to-one or as a group, exploring Glasgow with an experienced local photographer, suitable for beginners or photographers looking to develop their street photography.
Glasgow is a dream location for both new and experienced street photographers.
You'll spend a day seeing Glasgow differently as we visit Buchanan Street, George Square, Queen Street, past the Gallery of Modern Art, the Duke of Wellington aka 'Cone Heid', alleyways, along the riverside to the Squiggly Bridge and Argyll Street to name but a few of my favourite locations.
If you love photographing on the streets or want to try it for the first time, you'll get the opportunity to shoot street portraits, make images of buskers, architecture, monuments, film locations, street art by some of the city's legendary artists, sticker art, reflections, vandalised phone boxes, discarded takeaways and really grotty alleyways. If the weather is really bad we can ride the Subway!
Don't wear your best clothes!
If there's a photography exhibition, talk, demo or anything else interesting happening in Glasgow on the day, we'll see if we can work it into our plans. You never know what we might stumble across!
We can grab a takeaway or sandwich along the way and relax on the steps at GoMA and have a chat at lunchtime. Afterwards, if you want to hang around a bit longer we can find a cafe or bench to share photos and talk about the day. The day is based around using your imagination, seeing things differently and going away with some great photos for your collection.
Everyone is welcome regardless of experience and kit. If you're new to photography, I'll happily share what I know and help you get the most from your day. We can talk about street photography including composition, how to approach people for a photo and when not to approach them! And we can enjoy some fun challenges along the way which I will randomly come up with five minutes before you arrive!
Pricing for the day (typically 10am to 4pm)
One-to-one £75
Two people £130 (£65 per person)
3 to 4 people £50 per person
5 to 6 people £40 per person
