About the Glasgow City Centre Worldwide Photo Walk
This photo walk is not just about the usual clichéd tourist shots and locations.
Come with me and photograph the Glasgow I know and love. The hidden alleyways, colourful and thought provoking street art along the Clyde, buskers, some of the city’s great characters, beautiful architecture, unpredictable moments and everything else that makes Glasgow such a fantastic place to have a camera in your hand. We’ll walk, explore, stop when something catches our eye and look for photographs rather than simply ticking off landmarks.
I’ll take you to some of my favourite spots and share a few of the places, ideas and techniques that have helped shape my own street photography over the years.
Are there going to be any surprises along the way?
Yes that is highly likely. Prepare to have fun!
How should you prepare?
Weather - anything could happen. Dress for 'four seasons in one day' with layers that can be added or removed. Sunscreen may or may not be required!
Equipment and experience Everyone is welcome regardless of their equipment and skills.
Refreshments There are plenty of places to pick up drinks and food throughout the walk route. We will stop for lunch and enjoy a break in George Square or on the steps of the Gallery of Modern Art.

24 Hour Project supporting Action Against Hunger
Documenting the world in one day, raising awareness and supporting Action Against Hunger
Because apparently I don’t have enough to do, this year’s Worldwide Photo Walk will take place during the 24 Hour Project, which starts at midnight on Friday 2nd October 2026 and finishes at midnight on Saturday 3rd October 2026. So I’ll be photographing Glasgow for 24 hours for charity while leading the walk. I’ll tell you all about it later!
Slightly ridiculous? Probably. But it should make for an interesting day.
